TECHNICAL OPERATIONS DIVISION - is the technical wing of Intelligence Network Agency (INA) that is engaged in the field of providing covert technical support to counter the ever increasing risk of electronic eavesdropping faced by corporate business houses and high profile individuals. The present scenario wherein there is a cut throat competition provides the motivation to certain entities to indulge in unfair means to obtain information and data related to brand positioning, strategies, and new product launches of their competitors.

To obtain such intelligence, there are only two ways of doing so. One is through the use of human assets that is, planting a mole within the organization to collect information through prying into documents as well as using electronic hardware to record and retrieve vital company information. The second and more devious method is to resort to electronic eavesdropping wherein certain electronic devices are ‘planted’ at vantage points within the premises of the company to listen in and record all the proceedings in that zone. The theft of such intellectual property rights and trade secrets are damaging the corporate world in a big way. Added to this is the laxity in enforcing the law that allows the spy to get away with not even a slap on the wrist. According to a recent survey conducted by KPMG, 14% of Indian companies have been the victims of corporate spying with approximately 39 percent falling prey to intellectual property theft and computer-related fraud while an Ernst & Young study reveals that 82% of the worst frauds are committed by the enemy within, acting alone or in collusion with a third party.
